Watching Movies


* be into something - to be interested in something in an active way
  何かになる。アクティブな方法で何かに興味があります。

* keep up with something - to learn about or be aware of the news,

                                                     current events,etc
  何かに追いつく。学びやニュースを認識することが現在のイベント、など。 

* choosy - careful in choosing, difficult to please

  うるさい。慎重に選ぶ、喜ばせるために困難

* superb - excellent, of very good quality

     (outstanding, perfect, superb: all these describe something that is
       extremely good)
  素晴らしい、優れた、非常に良い品質

* freak- a person with a very strong interest in a particular subject

     (e.g. a fitness freak, a jazz freak.], a health freak, etc)
  特定の物に非常に強い興味を持つ人





Josh: Hi! I want to rent a movie for weekend.
           Can you recommend anything good?

Debbie: Alright. What kind of movies are you interested in? 
               I hope you're not choosy.

Josh: I'm into"Johnny Depp"movies recently.

Debbie: Then, I'd like to recommend the "Pirates of the 
                   Caribbean"series. Have you watched it?

Josh: Not yet, I've heard of it, Though. Is it interesting?

Debbie: It is superb. I'm sure you'll love it! You can 
                 ask anything about "movies," I'm kind of  a movie 
                 freak. I always keep up with new movies.

Josh: Great! Can you recommend more?

Debbie: Okay then, how about this one?...
                 Do you like drama films?

Josh: Yes, but not always.

Debbie: I see. Let me think... I have some movies in mind. 
                 I will make you a list of with plot summaries.

Josh: Wow, you're such a nice girl! I'm looking forward to 
             seeing it!

Cellphone Bill


A: I need to talk to you about something.

B: What it about, sir?

A: Your cell phone bill has been increasing recently.
     It's getting out of hand.

B: I've been meaning to talk to you about that. I'm very sorry.

A: Your know that our policy is to use for local calls only.

B: I do, but I needed to keep in touch with my family
     because my father was ill.
     Please be assure that I will cover the extra costs.

A: Okay, I will. Thank you for acknowledging it anyway.

Comparatives (比較級)


1, The most basic way to compare is to use as...as this form of comparison
     does not need a change in adjectives.

    a, My mother is as tall as my older brother.
    b, The train station in my city is not as crowded as the train station in
         this city.


2, You can also compare using than this form of comparison needs a
     change is adjectives.

    a, My report is shorter than his.
    b, Their company is older than our company.


2a.1-syllable adjectives: add -er to the adjective.

    a, I think this year's summer is hotter than last hear's.
    b, This side of the pool is deeper than that side,
         so be careful.


2b.2-syllable adjectives ending in -y: change he -y to -ier.

    a, This restaurant is classier than the one we went to last weekend.
    b, Sometimes I feel like everyone else is luckier than I am.


2c, other  2-syllable adjectives: use more with the unchanged adjective.

Already Ever Never Yet

  is used in positive sentences.

Ever
  means at any time.
  It is used in questions.

 b, Have you ever been involve in a violent fight?


Never
  means not at any time.
  It is used in negative sentences.

 a, I've never seen a ghost.
 b, I've never been involved in a violent fight.


Yet
  is used to talk about something which is expected to happen.
  It is used in questions and negatives.

 a, Have you finished your report yet?
 b, I haven't finished it yet.
